In early February of 2003, Tracy Lynn Penland decided to take a journey in the music of the underground dance community by embarking upon her DJ career and in the process she discovered another world that provides her w/ not only inspiration and expression, but also making it possible for her to build genuine relationships w/ many of the people that evolve w/in the sub-culture. W/ the help of then good friend Kristopher Self...aka DJ Krisp and countless hours fine-tuning her mixing skills, the upstate of South Carolina had witness the emergence of DJ Scarlett. Not wanting to be a DJ who revolved around one type of breaks, Tracy incoorporated all aspects of the Breakbeat movement from funky and electro to nuskool and even proggy breaks into her style and earned a reputation for a lady who knew how to work the speakers w/ her bangin sound. Inspired by DJ's such as Merlyn, Keith MacKenzie, Trixie, Jen Lasher, and Krisp, Scarlett continued to push towards her dream of playing in front of packed dancefloors. All of this resulted in Scarlett being able to play w/ such names as Irene, Baby Anne, Mea, Odi, Doc Roc, Monk, DJB, and DJ X...as well as her attracting the attention of Charelston's very own DJ Linz. Teaming up together, Linz and Scarlett formed the Carolina based Infectious Entertianment, as well as combining their serious sound and skills to form a tag team that is not to be missed. W/ only 3 years experience under her belt and a bright future ahead, Scarlett realizes she must be persistent and work hard to maintain her place in the breakbeat scene of the Carolina's. Now a proud parent of a beautiful baby girl and more driven than ever, Scarlett is ready to follow her heart towards becoming the very best DJ she can be and at the same time providing the dancefloor w/ the smooth beats to make people move and the scene w/her positive vibes. Tracy graduated from Dorman High School in 2002 and is now attending Spartanburg Tech proceeding a career in Computer Technology.
